  • Please support a Russian young musician and classical concert pianist Katerina Verbovskaya Biography Katerina Verbovskaya is one of Russia's most gifted young pianists, with an already impressive resume of concerts and prizes. Born
    in Kalingrad in 1988, she has had solo and orchestral performances throughout Russia, including the major concert halls of Moscow (e.g. Great and Small Halls of Moscow Conservatory , Rachmaninoff Hall, Museums, etc. Recital appearances include Washington D.C.'s Kennedy Center, Italy, France, Germany. She has performed with orchestras including the Kalingrad Philharmonic , Pavel Slobodkin Center Moscow Chamber Orchestra, Chopin Moscow College Symphony Orchestra. Her artistry and virtuosity has won her numerous prizes and awards. These include 1st prizes in the 2001 Rachmaninoff Competition and 2000 Debussy Festival Competition and the 2002 "Young Talents of Russia" Competition, 3rd Prize in the 2003 International Russia Competition and 4th Prize in the International Shostakovich Competition. She was the Winner of the Moscow Festival of Romantic Music Award, received a special award at the Neuhaus Festival in Moscow, and won the Diploma for Outstanding Technique at the 11th Delphic Games in Bryansk, Russia. Internationally she was a finalist in the 2011 Washington International Piano Competition, the 2012 International Rosario Marciano Competition in Vienna, 3 prize in the International Piano competition in Treviso, Italy, 1 and 3 prizes in the 6th Concorso Internazionale di Esecuzione Musicale “Giovanni Musicisti”, Treviso, Italy . She has been awarded grants and scholarships from the Guzik Foundation, Russian Performing Arts Foundation, V. Spivakov Foundation, "New Names" Foundation and the Senator's Foundation. She has performed in masterclasses for Dmitry Bashkirov, Choong – Mo Kang, V. Gornostaeva and Jorge Luis Prats. Ms. Verbovskaya is a graduate of the Frederic Chopin Music College and the Moscow Conservatory, where she received her Master's Degree with Honors. Since September 2012 she has been a full-scholarship student of Michael Lewin in the Graduate Performance Diploma program at the Boston Conservatory. She was a finalist in the December 2012 Conservatory Concerto Competition, performing the Brahms 2nd Piano Concerto.
